2008 MasterCraft X2
MasterCraft X-2: Cyberspace Vs. The Entourage.
There’s a difference between mediocrity and greatness. It’s called desire. And if the X-2 had a mantra it would be,”Desire.” Because this overachiever brings it in every way. At a garage-friendly 20 feet, it still provides plenty of seating for everyone to join in on the fun. And it offers a heart-pounding, mulit-port, EFI Vortec engine along with a modified step hull for versatile thrills.
Top-end speed for slalom skiing; and thick wakes with sweet lips for wakeboarding.
Inch by inch – from the tips of its SuperFly bow to the swim platform – it fervently wants nothing more than to prove it’s the best boat for you. With an abundance of standard features and amenities, you may feel the throes of desire yourself.
Just take delivery of your own X-2 and then point all of that longing toward greatness.
When looking at the X-2, comparisons are inevitable – with its wide body, pickle-fork nose and exemplary wakes – the X-Star quickly comes to mind. And although the X-2 has affectionately become known as the “offspring of royalty” or the “mini X-Star,” it has proven that when it comes to world class luxury performance, it is a true all-star that stands on top of the industry.
Underneath is where the magic happens, however. By incorporating a modified step hull, the multi-faceted X-2 is a wake maker and a single ski magnet. Below 24 mph, the stern sits in deep, cleaving a smooth transition that elevates to a tight lip – perfect for long launches into the flats. Drop down to 11 mph, and wake surf wakes are thick, tight and clean. For beefier water, load up the worry-free factory ballast, now with an “artificial intelligence” computer system that shuts off automatically when the ballast is full or empty. At speeds above 26 mph, the stepped hull gets up and out of the way, leaving behind a trail of bubbles that’s delightful to edge a slalom ski through.
Aside from the SuperFly bow, the X-2 comes complete on the inside, featuring a full wraparound seating compartment that envelopes, but doesn’t compromise.
This little 20-footer plays big – it seats 11.
